We eat a buffet breakfast in hotel & board bus at 8am to head back to the Panda Sanctuary.

Today we worked with the pandas in quarantine, weak, sick, elderly, & those recently rescued. We cleaned their cages, hosed down, then plucked bamboo leaves off the stems for an elderly panda who has no teeth to chew bamboo stalks. We then observed the pandas in outdoor enclosures to record their behavior for twenty minutes.

Fun facts: Pandas average life span is only 18 years in the wild, they have no natural predators. There are only approximately 2k giant pandas on the planset, 68 here. Panda species have been around 18 million years on planet earth- they are considered living fossils.
