It's the journey, not the destination (March 20)

You never understand the saying, “It’s the journey, not the destination”, until you experience an exploration like we did. We partook in a 12-hour bus ride from Karijini National Park to Coral Bay. Our bus ride consisted of singing random snippets of songs, weaving bracelets, eating muesli bars, taking quite a bit of stops for fuel, and sleep. We spent time trying to scout out kangaroos, or any sign of wildlife, but saw nothing but dirt and trees. The buses were like hot boxes. The sun shone through the windows and burnt us to crisps. Along the way, we stopped at: Tom Price (a small town in the depths of WA), Parabadoo, Nanuturra (where the flies were incredibly aggressive), and a couple of other stops for switching out drivers. At the end of our journey, we understood the importance of our drive. Our trials shone light upon the ‘creamy’ sunset that awaited us at Coral Bay and the luxuries of the new hostel. It made us appreciate our destination more and grow closer to one another.
