By Ada: Our ninth day of travels began early for me when Leilani woke me up at 5:45 to watch the sunrise with herself, Ella, Ram, and Sienna. We trudged out on a red dirt path to a small wooden platform that overlooked the vast Pilbara region, and watched the sun rise over the west horizon. For our first full day in Karijini National Park, we hiked down into a gorge, and from then on waded through the river to make our way to Handrail Falls. To get to the pool, we treaded carefully over slippery rocks with monstrous red cliffs climbing upwards on either side of the narrow riverbed. We continued to explore farther and farther down the gorge until someone in our group spotted a Brown Snake. It doesn’t sound like much, but this kind of snake is venomous, and our group, being five hours from adequate medical care, was extremely aware of the potential consequences if someone were to get bit. There were a few other people (not a part of our group) who were there also, and one of them started to aggravate the snake. That’s when we decided it would be a great time to leave and go back to the main pool that was farther upriver. It’s to for me to sign out so that Bobby can talk about the rest of the day, but I just need to say that later in the evening around 9:45pm, I saw the biggest and brightest shooting star I have ever seen in my entire life; a furious ball of white light sped across the dark blue sky, leaving a glowing trail in its path.

By Bobby: The night part was pretty fun, everybody got together and started writing a poem after dinner. The night sky was beautiful, that was probably the best one I ever saw in my life. We all just shared our poems without and lights except the moon light, it was peaceful and enjoyable. Ada already explained everything else, I want to say that the life right here is cool even there are a lot of frogs, grasshoppers and spiders.
