Alright, it’s Fisher again. Today didn’t really start until after lunch because our entire morning was spent on the shinkansen once again traveling to Nara. Once we got here though, we got our first sight of the deer that this town is famous for. To get to the temple we were visiting we had to walk past full of about 50 deer spread throughout who had no problem wandering around and letting us pet them. After playing with the deer and checking out the temple, we went into the shopping area to buy snacks and wait for our rooms to be ready. We found an amazing artist who was sitting on the side of the street with some amazing art that he had done. Kamea and I both bought some pictures, his a ghost and mine a hospital patient. They were super cool animation style drawings and we were super excited to get them. The highlight of the day was tonight where we were severed an incredible traditional Japanese dinner called Kaiseki with a combination of beef, chicken, sashimi, tempura, sakura mochi, vegetables, and rice, with strawberry ice cream for dessert. Everyone ended the meal completely stuffed and satisfied and then headed off to the public bath. The idea was sort of weird at first, but we all got comfortable pretty quickly and enjoyed the relaxing bath we shared. Today was a quieter day which was a nice break from the excitements and large amounts of walking we had experienced in the last few days.
